Description of Services:


The part time (up to 20 hours per week) Workday Payroll Consultant augments the capacity and capabilities of the College's Workday Support team by providing services required to design, develop, test and implement system changes which increase the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processes.

These changes may be inherent to the payroll module or may be pay impacting changes in other modules such as Human Capital Management, Absence or Time Tracking.

Changes are executed according to the change enablement process or within the scope of a project managed by the Senior Project Manager.


The Payroll Specialist supports end user by receiving, reviewing, researching and resolving pay related issues and service requests (Tier 2) received through the case management system.


Drawing on the depth and breadth of Workday experience, as well as research and evaluation of new features, the position provides expert advice to colleagues within the team and to Human Resources, Payroll or Finance business owners, helping them to better understand Workday functionality as well as the benefits and limitations of the system.


Skill Requirements:


  • 4year Degree in one of Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a relevant Business field.
  • Workday Payroll Fundamentals and Payroll for Canada courses
  • Workday PRO certifications such as Human Capital Management and Time Tracking are preferred
  • Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with Workday configuration and report creation with specialty knowledge in the Payroll, Human Capital Management and Time Tracking modules
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in business analysis, including eliciting, understanding, capturing and communicating business needs,
  • Experience evaluating client needs, time estimates, setting tasks, determining priorities and tracking progress towards completion
  • Experience with value stream mapping, business process and data analysis, business rules definition, data definition and preparation
  • Experience in research and analysis to propose technology solutions which support a best practice approach to future state processes
  • Experience in software development lifecycle management, including testing processes and methodologies;
  • Experience in the creation and maintenance of testing artefacts (including test execution plan, test cases, requirements traceability matrix and test results)for a variety of pay impacting system changes
  • Experience providing input for various change management and communication activities as required, including supporting the creation of training materials and user guides, identifying and supporting readiness activities
  • Strong technical, problem resolution and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Participation in knowledge sharing and mentorship
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Extraordinarily detailoriented
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of confidentiality due to the incumbent's access to confidential employee information

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract

Salary:
$45,951.32-$50,787.42 per hour
