Description:

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Financial Analyst plays a vital role in delivering project-based accounting support to stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, complex problem-solving skills, sound professional judgment, and diverse finance and accounting experience.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with all CCIS departments, the Financial Analyst will provide accounting and finance support/services, including fund-based budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate accounting within CCIS's financial system
  • Provide accurate, timely, relevant information, data analysis, and forecasts using financial and business intelligence tools
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of the financial processes within various CCIS fund accounting projects to ensure these processes are effectively planned, coordinated, and communicated to the department and funders
  • Ensure audit trails or supporting documentation for all financial transactions will be available when required by funders
  • Complete monthend financial reports for Management
  • Book monthly journal entries
  • Reconciles and book the CCIS VISA statements with receipts
  • Prepare monthly financial and statutory schedules of CCIS
  • Lead yearend procedures and ensure that the accounting records comply with the external and internal audit requirements
  • Ensure that accounting procedures and records are maintained in accordance with Accounting Standard for Not-ForProfit Organization specifications and CCIS' financial policies and procedures
  • Continuously review processes and implement improvements to ensure efficiency in all areas
  • Respond to and resolve complex process issues, engaging the respective manager as required
  • Support departments in the decisionmaking process by compiling and performing meaningful financial analysis and ad hoc reporting as required by the funders
  • Assist with educating team members on finance processes and financial planning and analysis
  • Ability to initiate, implement, and support new or modified approaches, practices, and processes
  • Undertake components of special projects as determined by the Controller.

Qualifications:


  • Completion of University Degree Major in Finance and Accounting combined with five years of professional experience in Financial Analysis
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience in NotforProfit Accounting preferred
  • Working knowledge of Accounting Standards for NotforProfit organizations
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative and have selfstarting skills
  • Comfortable working in a diverse work environment with an appreciation for cultural differences
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work within strict deadlines.
