    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment, in a fleet environment, for proper performance.
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
  • Repairing damaged equipment parts.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
  • Repairing and servicing machine attachments.
  • Performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Desired skills and Experience:

  • Certification as a Heavy Equipment Journeyman Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' mechanical experience and be signed up with the Alberta Apprenticeship Board.
  • Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license with own transportation.
  • CVIP license preferred.
  • Ability to work after-hours if required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised on heavy trucks and equipment.
  • Preference will be given to Red Seal Journeyman.
