Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading portfolio schedule analysis of ship repair programs, and for improving the planning processes of the Program Controls department based on your ship repair experiences.


You will have strong influential, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to connect with others with tact and subtlety.

Note:
Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at Victoria Shipyards.


What you'll do

  • Utilize contract documentation and estimating work/material sheets to build the Level 3 integrated master schedule.
  • Ensure schedule budgets are maintained to accurately match project contracts as the scope of work evolves to include cancellations, adjustments, and scope growth.
  • Collaborate with the Production, Estimating and Supply Chain teams to ensure activity breakdown, logic sequence, and inspection points are accurately maintained in the project schedule.
  • Provide mentoring and schedule specific support to the Planning & Scheduling team.
  • Provide periodic efficiency, schedule health, and forecasting reports to the Programs.
  • Develop and maintain integrated resource profiles for all shipyard programs and provide forecasting information to all functional areas.
  • Prepare and distribute regular update reports that provide program resource status, schedule performance and identify variances to performance plans.
  • Set and report on baseline schedule at the start of each availability.
  • Maintain Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) with contractual changes.
  • Support the preparation of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reports.
  • Provide schedule health review of the plans that are produced by other planner schedulers.
  • Maintain department Standard Operating Procedures and department metrics.

What you'll bring

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or business is preferred. Trades certificated combined with scheduling experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years planning/scheduling experience in ship repair/overhaul or shipbuilding is needed.
  • Certification by an accredited society in Planning, Production Control and/or Project Management is highly desirable.
