Lead Carpenter Job Description

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim
Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings
Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props using hand tools and wood screws
Perform tile laying, siding installation, water damage restoration, plastering and door hanging
Ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget
Train and supervise carpentry team members

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a carpenter or maintenance person with at least 5 years of experience in the field
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
Ability to read technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of building materials, codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
Experience with cabinet installation is a plus
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing ladders etc.
Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment

Salary:
$27.00-$33.00 per hour
