***: Responsible for supporting the Transit Bus Business by providing data analysis for performance measurement and profit enhancement opportunities. Support bids and option pricing with accurate and timely financial projections. Support operations by providing timely and accurate financial analysis.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
  • Prepare and project profit margins at the bid and build stages.
  • Responsible for monthly margin report for margin analysis.
  • Conduct analysis and report of margin shortfalls and margin enhancement opportunities.
  • Review and prepare customer change order requests and project the impact to contract profit margins.
  • Responsible to prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible to analyze journal entries for accuracy and corrections.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for distribution.
  • Prepare and analyze information and work with data owners to maximize shareholder returns.
  • Prepare documentation for regular external and internal audits.
  • Responsible for analyzing and preparing all related entries for Infrastructure.
  • Provide support in various financial reporting initiatives and projects as required.
  • Review Sales Release Change Requests for accuracy and prepare margin analysis of changes.
  • Prepare weekly Labour report analysis.
  • Prepare analysis of pending verses frozen costs.
  • Prepare backlog report to reconcile with sales reports.
  • Assist costing as needed / Year End Audit / Price testing / Buy America Audits / Canadian Cost Audits.
  • Prepare and assist with process improvements within the department to increase accuracy and productivity.
  • Provide training and guidance to the Financial Analyst.
  • Other duties assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting.
  • 25 years' accounting experience in a financial environment.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office with above average Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.
  • Professional team player with ability to pay attention to details.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
