Your Opportunity

  • Stantec is seeking a Construction Administration Lead to participate in growing a construction administration team within the Industrial Studio. The Construction Administration Team will lead our integrated project design teams from tender phase through to end of construction and project turnover.

The Construction Administration Team will be responsible to:

  • Oversee and perform daytoday Construction Administration tasks on behalf of design professionals to ensure that projects are constructed in compliance with the design, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate on behalf of design professionals with subconsultants, clients, contractors, authorities, field staff, utility companies, public agencies, general public.
  • Serve as lead representative for Stantec's construction administration services facilitating design professionals at project meetings, presentations, official meetings and public hearings.
  • Coordinate with project design teams to optimize appropriateness of tender / construction documents formatting to the design delivery method and construction procurement method.
  • Coordinate with project design teams to complete constructionrelated designphase review including constructability, cost, and construction sequencing and scheduling.
  • Manage construction administration related processes and document controls through Tender, Construction and Post-Construction services.
  • Coordinate with design disciplines to complete delegated professional services during construction phase including coordination and scheduling of field review and reports, and processing of RFIs, site instructions, change orders, shop drawings, submittals, progress claims, deficiency lists, commissioning participation, closeout documentation, warranty period documentation.
  • Participate in internal project closeout activities and providing constructionphase lessons learned.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple large, complex initiatives and/or projects simultaneously.
  • Build a Construction Administration Team consisting of project coordinators, architects, engineers and others through internal and external recruitment.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with construction company partners.
  • Maintain relationships and coordinate with other specialized Stantec construction administration teams.
  • Establish best practices, tools, templates and procedures for construction administration activities including processes for RFI and shop drawing review, site instructions, field review reports.
  • Manage the Construction Administration Team including team development, career growth, performance management, compensation review.
  • Be responsible for Construction Administration Team workload and resource planning.
  • Contribute to fee proposal development related to tender, construction and postconstruction services.
  • Comply with regulations governing design professionals in the jurisdiction of the project.
