Position Summary:


Responsible for monitoring compliance with remediation, oral cautions, orders, undertakings, health inquiries, and terms, conditions or limitations of pharmacy professionals following decisions made by the College's Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee, Discipline Committee, Fitness to Practice Committee, Accreditation Committee, Drug Preparation Premises Committee, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, or through other College processes.

Responsible for monitoring proceedings and preparing public register postings for pharmacy professionals with criminal charges and findings, civil proceedings and findings in other jurisdictions.


What You'll Do at OCP

  • Monitor compliance with remediation, orders, undertakings, health inquiries, and terms, conditions, and limitations following decisions made by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee, Discipline Committee, Fitness to Practice Committee, Accreditation Committee and Drug Preparation Premises Committee, HPARB, or through other College processes; notify the Conduct Operations Lead when potential breaches occur or are anticipated and initiate appropriate followup, and propose next steps using judgement where precedence may not exist.
  • Prepare material and schedule oral cautions to be delivered by the Inquiries, Complaints, and Reports Committee. If administered virtually, schedule panels and coordinate oral caution meetings; correspond with Committee chair to appoint panels, as required.
  • Monitor proceedings and prepare public register postings for pharmacy professionals with criminal charges, findings and sentences, civil proceedings and matters in other jurisdictions in accordance with the requirements set out in the legislation and College By-Laws.
  • Prepare customized memos and other correspondence to be reviewed by the Registrar by analyzing and consolidating information, ensuring information captured is succinct while capturing all of the facts and prioritizing matters based on risk. Prepare written correspondence to internal and external stakeholders (pharmacy professionals, legal counsel, courts and enforcement officers, etc.).
  • Liaise and collaborate with other areas of the College (Intakes, Investigators, PDR). Liaise with external stakeholders involved in monitoring compliance (including remediation providers, mentors, health program providers, etc.) as required.
  • Collaborate with staff in the Professional Development and Remediation department, as required, to support professional development activities and projects.
  • Prepare and analyze compliance monitoring data/statistics/reports for reporting to the Executive team.
  • Continually examine work processes and explore opportunities for improving efficiencies through technology, elimination or altering of work processes on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to the Conduct Operations Lead
  • To support OCP's ultimate goal of providing excellent service to current and potential stakeholders, the incumbent must be constantly attentive and responsive to both external and internal stakeholders' needs and assist in the resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner while ensuring that the solution meets the stakeholder's needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Conduct Operations Lead, or Manager, Conduct, including backup support in other areas of Conduct Operations.

What experience we prefer

  • College diploma in a related field such as business, administration or equivalent, university degree preferred
  • Must have 35 years of recent relevant experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Experience in a regulatory environment would be considered a strong asset.
