You as a Virtual, Design & Construction (BIM) Manager will:

  • Be a part of a team working in a fast-paced environment with project managers, superintendents, and engineers on-site.
  • Collaborate with the VDC Leadership team to build a BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategies
  • Collaborate with the VDC Leadership in R&D and testing new tools for reality capture, visualization and asset data management
  • Manage and maintain BIM data generated from various sources throughout design and construction.
  • Generate drawings and construction documents from the BIM using standardized details and workflows
  • Facilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualization
  • Provide VDC Support to sites through clash detection and design coordination
  • Use your 3D Modeling skills to model Architectural, Structural, MEP and Construction Logistic elements as needed for representation, visualization, and coordination.
  • Create Architectural, Structural and MEP models from Point Clouds to accurately portray a facility asbuilt conditions
  • Analyze Point clouds to generate reports (FF/FL, Heatmaps, deviation reports) for site teams
  • Update 3D models and drawings of operational facilities following specifications provided by the Facility Management teams
  • Leverage BIM Models and their data for Facility Management purposes
  • Help your project team navigate the expanding world of construction technology by teaching and mentoring them as they learn new software and workflows
  • Participate in software testing, R&D initiatives and continue personal and professional growth
  • Be a part of the VDC community to build on EllisDon's rich history of innovation as leaders in the construction industry

Is this role right for you?

  • University degree/ Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling and technologies, preferably on site.
  • You have a business administration mindset to lead a team to meet organizational objectives
  • Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination works.
  • Advanced experience in Revit, AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D and Navisworks is required.
  • Autodesk BIM360, Revizto, Synchro Pro and Dynamo are considered an asset.
  • Experience with operating Laser Scanning equipment and point cloud registration is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam.
  • High level of knowledge interpreting design and construction drawings.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and take ownership of tasks and projects, while being able to collaborate effectively with team members and project stakeholders
  • Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to detail
  • BIMrelated training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, BuildingSMART)
  • RPAS (Drone) Operator Certification (Or the ability to achieve)
  • Valid G2/G Ontario Drivers' license and own vehicle is considered a strong asset
