Job Description:

The Supervisor, Baggage Services oversees all areas of baggage services at the airport, including arriving, departing and mishandled baggage.

The Supervisor, Baggage Services leads the team of Baggage Services Agents and acts as the air carrier representative with all contracted baggage services and the airport authority.

The Supervisor, Baggage Services is the liaison with the Air Transat Central Baggage team.


Availability to work shift work in a 24 hour/7 day operational role.

Responsibilities


The Supervisor, Baggage Services monitors the handling of inbound and outbound baggage, ensuring that service level agreements are met and all applicable Air Transat procedures are followed.

This includes lateral and belt assignments, baggage delivery times, connection baggage oversight, scanning system compliance, priority baggage handling, forwarding and delivery, and damaged baggage prevention.

The Supervisor, Baggage Services leads the baggage services team, including their schedules and administrative tasks. The Supervisor, Baggage Services handles high profile passenger files and ensures exceptional communication with passengers for all baggage mishandlings.

The Supervisor, Baggage Services participates in airport baggage committees and meets regularly with contracted handlers to review performance.

The Supervisor, Baggage Services investigates mishandlings and service level failures, provides root cause analysis and corrective measures recommendations, and prepares documentation for chargebacks and penalties as per SLA's and contractual agreements.


Qualifications:


  • High school leaving diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience or knowledge in airport operations minimum 5 years;
  • Experience with Worldtracer and baggage tracing, baggage scanning systems (strong asset);
  • Excellent ability to manage under pressure;
  • Complex decisionmaking skills;
  • Leadership skills to work with and direct multidisciplinary teams
  • Customeroriented, excellent interpersonal skills, autonomous;
  • Bilingual (French and English) written and spoken;
  • Resourcefulness, initiative, diplomacy and good organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
