    A Snapshot of Your Day

    Supplier Quality Coordinator works in daily collaboration with our Montreal shops and warehouses. They also support external supplier quality topics related to work being received and done in Montreal for the Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine product line. They will have higher level of impact on the production floor than a typical office employee, balancing support of shop production issues and supplier back-office topics.

    How You'll Make an Impact

  • Ensures correct failure recording (accept /reject notification as per Non-conforming Process)
  • Submission of complaint to supplier, ensure containment of issue is done INT (all plants), EXT (customer, suppliers)
  • Ensures that the Supplier provides a detailed analysis of the root cause of a failure.
  • Ensures that the Supplier applies sustainable corrective and preventive quality methods aimed at risk minimization.
  • Monitoring of corrective actions and parts disposition from MRB
  • Ensures correct recording of non-conformance costs (including consequential costs) to the failure origin
  • Analyzing supplier failures to detect recurring failures.
  • Shared responsibility:
  • Participates in quality meetings with suppliers.
  • Provides supplier quality performance data to ensure a meaningful supplier performance evaluation
  • Drives reactive supplier quality improvements and escalates when needed according to SQM Policy
  • Collaborates in supplier development programs.
  • Actively contributes to continuous improvements within the areas of responsibility
  • SQM reporting support
  • Support the monitoring of and improvement of suppliers' performance to meet SCL business targets.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • What You Bring

  • 5+ years professional experience with a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical or material or industrial engineering, or a similar field is required. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA
  • Communication – ensures key messages are understood and the required actions are taken.
  • Problem solving – is able to solve problems and get things done.
  • Robustness – copes well with pressure uncertainty and changing circumstances.
  • Understand requirements of the quality system.
  • Organization – Must be organized and able to work autonomously within the scope of the role description
  • Computer skills – Basic skills with excel, word and power point are essential
