    Description

    Quality Inspector – Level 2

    The Quality Inspector – Level 2 position, under general supervision, is responsible for inspecting products and performing quality audits including repetitive visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection. Primarily accountable for testing and sampling raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards. In addition, carry out diversified bench, first piece or floor inspections using simple inspection tools.

    Performance Expectations

    · Ensure all assigned duties are completed on schedule.

    · Intermediate drawing interpretations and SPC principles.

    · Comprehend and apply G D and T concepts.

    · Perform destructive testing and evaluation.

    · Proficient at the various inspection and testing requirements.

    · Operate the CMM and basic knowledge of programming.

    · Issue Nonconforming Material Tags.

    · Understand TS processes including nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes.

    · Assist with capability studies, audits, and gauge R and R as needed.

    · Adhere to all H&S and environmental laws and procedures.

    · Read the standards guide and manual to avoid inspection errors.

    · Measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards. Basic math skills required.

    · Analyze cost and quality standards and carry out statistical quality control.

    · Use computer applications to monitor quality.

    Credentials

    · High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

    · Minimum two years of related experience.

    · Capable of all Quality Inspector – Level 1.

    · Intermediate knowledge of SPC and GDT.

    · Able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings in addition to GDT.

    · Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals.

    · Previous exposure in conducting audits.

    · Exposure to machining practices, experience with Metrology, SPC, knowledge of measuring techniques, gauging and inspection equipment.

    · Able to use measuring equipment effectively, that includes micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.

    · Use technical skills and knowledge to identify cause of problem.

    · Basic understanding of programming and CMM.

    · Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products.

    · Make continuous improvement recommendations to quality management.

    · Possess good interpersonal skills in order to interact with supervisor and to coordinate work and exchange information during quality meetings.

    · Ability to work independently, coordinating work with work of others as needed.
