Position Overview:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for managing and leading the entire Security team. In addition to leadership responsibilities the Site Supervisor participates in analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions and subsequent actions. The Site Supervisor will work closely with
IGPC Ethanol management team regarding daily operations.
The Site Supervisor is on-call after hours to support the site and provide emergency relief coverage when required and acts as the main contact between Lyndon Security and
IGPC Ethanol management.
Leadership
- Control, oversee and direct the activities of Site Guards;
- Motivate and manage the performance of security staff to ensure that the performance of all Guards is of the highest quality and complies with requirements;
- Liaise with the
IGPC Ethanol and Lyndon management with regard to any security issues and implement instructions and temporary post orders as necessary; - Coordinate weekly staffing and relief schedules for all security personnel assigned to
IGPC Ethanol; - Assist in developing policies for continuous improvement to services to enhance services.
Administrative Responsibilities
Orientate and Train:
Provide appropriate orientation and training.
Assign Work:
Assign special assignment duties to guards ensuring they are qualified and trained for the task.
Time Off:
Approve all requests for time off and shift changes.
Scheduling:
Create and manage the work schedule for the department.
Corrective Actions:
Address performance problems through the Paladin performance management procedures.
Personnel Post Orders, Policies and Procedures: Create, develop and update new or current policies for security that are specific to this site.
Incident Reports:
Review and sign-off on all incident reports created each shift by Security.
Emergency Response:
Emergency Team Representative to actively monitor site conditions and assist with plant evacuation process
Additional Responsibilities:
Also include Regular Guard Duties with access control, scale operation, weigh ticket issuance. Initiate, create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control and personnel requirements.
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Education and or experience in the security industry
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong computer abilities; Microsoft Office experience
- Valid Ontario Security Guard licence (required)
- Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
- Experience in a Truck Gate/Warehouse environment
- Physically capable of cutting truck bolt seals

- Write clear, concise, and legible reports.
- Communicates any concerns/issues with Operations Manager.

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:
- First Aid & CPR
- Level C
- Management of Aggressive Behavior
- Use of Force
- Report Writing
- Additional courses as assigned
- Vulnerable Sector Check
