    Location: Fort McMurray, AB

    Diversified Transportation has an immediate opening for a Senior Driver Trainer based in Fort McMurray. Reporting directly to the Training Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the driver training on Motor Coach, Site Shuttle and Industrial Bus for all new hires. Training is conducted in a combination of both in-vehicle and classroom settings. This role is also responsible for maintaining a variety of records and files related to the job responsibilities of this position. Working together with the rest of the training team, the Senior Driver Trainer will help meet the growing challenges of training drivers for all divisions.

    The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with occasional weekend work required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with training of new employees
    • Assist with three-month, six-month and annual driver evaluations
    • Assist in the development of instructional material such as training schedules, driver handbooks, visual aids, computer tutorials, route videos, and supplementary course materials
    • Communicate with Driver Trainers regarding their scheduled training
    • Complete post incident evaluations and pre-employment check rides
    • Explain, demonstrate and implement the annual close quarter maneuvering course
    • Train and mentor new and existing Driver Trainers
    • Review driving performance with Driver Trainers
    • Report on progress of trainees and Driver Trainers
    • Assist with implementation of a Mentorship Program
    • Assist with the implementation and training of TrackIt (a cloud-based platform for storing driver training records)
    • Arrange and build training pieces of work using scheduling software

    Position Requirements:

    • Any combination of education, training and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the required duties
    • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience
    • Instructional background - both in-vehicle and classroom preferred
    • Class 1 or 2Q driver's license
    • Clean driver's abstract
    • Must be knowledgeable in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Access)

    Remuneration:

    Annual salary - $70,000 - $75,000
