We are seeking an IT Field Technician to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Install, configure and maintain IT equipment including computers servers networking devices printers and peripherals.
- Diagnostics repairs troubleshooting of technical issues in hardware software and network systems perform repairs upgrades as needed to ensure optimal system functionality conduct routine maintenance on IT systems including software updates hardware diagnostics preventive maintenance minimize issues extend the lifespan of equipment set up troubleshoot wired wireless networks ensuring reliable internet access network security for clients maintain detailed records work performed system configurations installations repairs document all troubleshooting steps solutions future reference communicate effectively with clients understand their technical needs provide updates ongoing issues customer satisfaction provide basic training clients use installed systems software guidance best practices system maintenance security inventory management spare parts tools other IT equipment ensure necessary equipment available field visits respond emergency IT issues downtime swift resolution minimal disruption client operations minimum 1-3 years hands-on experience focus hardware software network troubleshooting proficient desktops laptops printers servers knowledge operating systems Windows common applications understanding networking principles TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPNs experience wired wireless networking technologies troubleshooting strong verbal written communication skills interact effectively clients colleagues analytical problem-solving skills quickly resolve efficient accurately document track issue repairs installations ability lift move equipment environments offices data centers travel periods time executing projects business requires valid class driver's license ticketing platform required Jira Freshservice ZenDesk ManageEngine Zoho Monday Asana Jira ClickUp SmartSheets previous experience field technician role customer-facing technical support position equal opportunity employer committed deliver accessibility equality job applicants staff customers accommodation request applicants disabilities recruitment assessment process hired acknowledged.
