    Assistant Controller

The Role & Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and/or Review month end financial accounts for entities in the Americas region in collaboration with the team
  • Ensure all month end procedures are being followed and financial accounts are complete, accurate and within group timelines
  • Analyze monthly revenues to ensure they are complete and accurate
  • Review payroll costs to ensure they are complete and accurate
  • Ensure departmental procedures are produced and regularly maintained
  • Ensure that all reporting deadlines are met
  • Analyze and present monthly financial results to group finance
  • Prepare and coordinate the drafting and completion of the annual report and accounts for entities in the region
  • Control the timely and accurate input of static data
  • Manage the annual budget process
  • Liaise closely with the Head of Finance
  • Americas, Controllers, and Local Managing Directors as well as Group Finance
  • Liaise with business lines and support departments to ascertain their requirements
  • Assist in developing, standardizing, and implementing appropriate internal controls
  • Manage and coordinate the yearend audit and tax returns process
  • Liaise and assist external auditors during their regular periodic reviews
  • Liaise with tax consultant to ensure that all tax reporting deadlines are met
  • Stay current and abreast of relevant IFRS developments that impact the firm
  • Manage ad hoc requests as necessary

Other Activities:


  • Active involvement in financial implication of new business including review of acquisition targets and other external M&A activity / due diligence in the region
  • Continual involvement in the financial elements of new projects

Skills Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Accounting designation (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 57 years of related work experience in financial services and/or public accounting preferably with multinational companies
  • Proficient with Excel, accounting systems and general IT
  • Experience with implementing new systems
  • Fully conversant in IFRS and US GAAP
  • Experience with US tax is an asset
  • Strong technical finance skills with ability to understand complex financial statements
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the different time zones of the office locations
  • Selfmotivated with a cando attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative, managing own time and workload
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively amongst all levels of the organization
  • Reliable, committed, supportive and acts in a professional manner
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst delivering to a high standard
