    Work Arrangements
    The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a Coordinator for the Department of Criminology and Legal Studies.

    This position takes effect September 1, 2024 for an initial one year term with the possibility of an extension(s) up to a maximum of three years.

    This role has two sections of time release available for the academic year.

    The Role
    Criminology Program Coordinator.

    Responsibilities


    • Advise students on course offering and credential requirements for Douglas College credentials
    • Advise students on transfer process and requirements to external receiving institutions
    • Collect and evaluate information on the nature and progress of students seeking Certificate, Diploma and AA credentials
    • Review and recommend revisions to program where required
    • Conduct information sessions for new and incoming students
    • Provide content and review promotional materials
    • Maintain and revise student handbook and online resources
    • Liaise with Academic Advisors
    • Connect with local High School Counselors for program promotion and information purposes
    • Administer and organize scholarship and bursary nominations
    • Liaise with Chair and BA Coordinator regularly regarding course offerings, progress and students
    • Assisting in preparations for and attending College, Departmental and Program events (for instance: Dean's List Recognition Event, WRCAC Articulation Committee meetings, College Info Fairs, Prospective and Incoming Student Events, etc.)
    • Consulting and working together with the BA and Practicum Coordinators To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
    • To be a Faculty member in the Criminology Department
    • A strong working knowledge of the Criminology Certificate, Diploma and Associate of Arts (Criminology) credentials along with transfer and articulation to receiving institutions is required Link to Full Position Profile Needs a Criminal Records Check No
