About the role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, Welders are responsible for repairing and maintaining site structures and equipment in a shop or field environment. This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive 4x4 schedule consisting of days and nights. The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will:

1. Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
2. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and fabricate site structures and equipment in all areas of active mining, mine maintenance, and processing
3. Grind, gouge and repair cracks in haul truck bodies, shovel buckets, dozer blades, and other mining equipment
4. Conduct inspections on mining equipment and structures and perform preventative maintenance as needed
5. Use the following welding processes: FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW
6. Work cohesively with other tradespeople
7. Provide innovative solutions and best practices

Requirements:

1. Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Certification
2. Valid driver's license
3. Strong interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
5. B Pressure welding ticket would be considered an asset
6. Previous mining experience is an asset

Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
