    The Job Summary:

    The Senior FinancialAnalyst supports the philosophy and mission of St. Joseph's Health Centre andthe established goals, objectives, and policies of the Health Centre. TheSenior Financial Analyst is a member of the Finance team responsible for theintegrity of the general ledgers and financial-statistical reporting for theHealth Centre.

    Key Accountabilities& Success Criteria:


    • Maintain the integrity of the financial and statistical general ledgers.


    • Maintain chart of accounts in accordance with MIS Guidelines and other regulatory reporting requirements.


    • Prepare timely, accurate and reliable reports.


    • Review all monthly financial and related data, compare operating performance to plan and prior year and, prepare reports on trends and variances, for designated functional centres.


    • Participate in month-end journal entries and reconciliation process, as required.


    • Promote strong internal controls and suggest improvements.


    • Support the operational leaders of designated functional centres from LTC, Hospital and/or CSS with budgeting, forecasting, data analysis and other ad-hoc reporting, as required.


    • Assist leadership in the identification and documentation of process improvements and/or cost saving opportunities and assist in the implementation of such opportunities, where appropriate.


    • Review and approve all cash receipts and invoices for designated functional areas or, on a rotational basis with other team analyst, as required.


    • Prepare and submit SRI, MIS Trial Balance (financial and statistical), Provincial consolidation and, CAPS/HAPS/LAPS and, others as required.


    • Prepare the ARR monthly and associated schedules, for the Director Finance's review and, subsequent remit.


    • Review quarterly MOHLTC data quality monitoring tool results.


    • Support the year-end audit process, as required.


    • Support the Director Finance in other duties, as required.


    • Support the Director Finance in building a cohesive team.


    • Contribute to a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient and staff safety policies and procedures set by SJHCG

    Qualifications:


    • 2-3 years of relevant experience as Senior Financial Analyst, with preference for healthcare sector financial and statistical experience


    • University degree/College Diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline


    • Pursuing or recognized accounting designation preferred and therefore, familiar with generally accepted accounting principles

    Skills & Abilities:


    • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis


    • Attention to accuracy and detail, is critical


    • Strong analytical skills


    • Strong problem-identification and resolution skills


    • Prepared to work flexible hours to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting deadlines


    • Ability to work both independently and within a team


    • Capable of communicating professionally and effectively with Senior Management, peers, and departmental Managers


    • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic


    • Able to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment


    • Demonstrated good attendance
