Position

Duties

  • Supports the development of courses and programs using a blended, online or web enhanced format
  • Designs and develops digital learning objects to enhance course development and delivery
  • Coaches and mentors individual faculty members and instructors as they integrate new technologies into their teaching and research
  • Works closely with other team members to ensure such material, tutoring and support is available in the Technologies in Education Learning Commons when needed
  • Designs and develops appropriate documentation, tutorials and other learning materials to support workshops, seminars, oneonone coaching as well as independent learning
  • Consults with individual, or groups of, faculty or staff to provide appropriate technology solutions
  • Provides consultation to instructors and staff regarding ethical and/or philosophical issues relevant to educational technology (eg. equity, copyright, plagiarism, privacy, safety, etiquette, and responsible use)
  • Communicates current and emerging issues and uses of technology
  • Serves as a technology ambassador to gain support and involvement in the unit's programs
  • Assists Learning Consultant with supporting the Technology Coaches and the front desk
  • Coordinates with faculty, the Learning Assessment Centre, Accessibility Resources and provides support for online exams
  • Maintain accurate records and logs interactions
  • Supports digital exam creation and delivery
  • Supports the media team with videoconferencing setup and needs
  • Engages in video editing in conjunction with the media specialist

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with learning design or 2 years experience in online resource design and development, teaching OR 2 years experience integrating ICT in education as an instructor
- office experience or experience working in a post-secondary setting considered an asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Polite, courteous, punctual, flexible, dependable, and professional
  • Experience with and proficiency in the following:
  • Google Apps
  • MS Office suite
  • SMART board technology (an asset, but not required)
  • Audio and video recording and editing (an asset, but not required)
  • Web 2.0 tools
  • Web Conferencing tools
