What you will do:

The Director, Data Engineering and Data Governance will be responsible for managing our team of data engineers and data governance professionals to build our target state data ecosystem on Cloud while ensuring that the appropriate level of data governance is established and operationalized Cineplex has a large volume of both internal and external data which we leverage to better serve our guests and enhance the experiences they have with us.

The Director will ensure that our data is structured in a manner that makes it usable, well understood, trusted and accessible to drive our business needs.

The Director will be responsible for driving the roadmap of the Data Engineering and Data Governance teams (working closely with various other squads/teams).

They will also serve as the liaison between our team and the business and product teams.

You must have a track record of hiring, mentoring, and leveling up top-notch Data Engineers, as well as be familiar with relevant industry tools and architectures, such as Azure, Data Lakes, Data Meshes, ETL pipelines.

As a Senior Manager, you will be expected to improve the development process, propose and implement methodological changes to the way we work.

What The Role Is:

Define, enhance, and deliver on our roadmaps, prioritize tasks, and make sure everyone in the team is working towards a clear goal.

Acquire and integrate data from internal and external sources with a view to enhancing guest experiences and driving business value.

Deploy the Cineplex Data Governance program.

Build required processes for Data Governance, optimize existing processes and operationalize to ensure that our data is well understood, trusted and meets business needs.

Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. Provide deep technical and business bench strength for the team. Help connect the dot between different projects/processes/business needs and ensure that they are delivered efficiently. >Provide strong mentorship, leadership, coaching, and expertise to build and enhance core talent capabilities
