DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is responsible for office and clerical functions including: answering telephones inquiries and relaying accurate messages; acting as a receptionist; booking appointments; reading of x-ray reports to Physicians and their offices; filing of images and related paperwork; signing in and out of images, including tracking/recording the movement of imaging files both internally and externally; distributing x-ray reports; notifying technologists when requisitions are developed; joining x-ray films with previous films; rotation through various clinical areas in the Diagnostic Imaging department and other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
- Proven keyboarding skills of 3040 wpm (tested);
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested basic level);
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven Meditech experience in admissions, payroll and order entry modules;
- Proven organizational skills;
- Demonstrated to have good filing skills;
- Proven ability to set priorities;
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a high paced environment with frequent interruptions;
- Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, lifting and pulling;
- Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling and PCI, an asset;
- Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging Module, an asset;
- Previous clerical experience working in a Diagnostic Imaging Department,preferred;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular inservice education sessions in this area; and,
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
