The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Director, Planning/ Chief Planner this role is responsible for helping the division define strategies and frameworks that allow the Town of Caledon make sound decisions about environmental management and the natural heritage system and ensuring that parks and open spaces within the Town of Caledon are designed and constructed to meet the needs of the community while maximizing the use of space in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Oversee project management and contract administration. Responsible for the project intake process, developing project plans, scheduling, preparing, and monitoring capital budgets and performance measures.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive approach to public engagement for natural asset protection, sustainable communities, and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
- Oversee the preparation of all policies and procedures relating to project specific initiatives.
- Advise Growth Management Committee, Planning and Development, Council, etc. on all matter's natural heritage and parks.
- Provide strong leadership to establish collaborative relationships and consultation processes with staff, affiliates, partners, consultants, residents, and stakeholders.
- Supervise inhouse and contracted staff assigned to perform work and activities as defined herein.
We are seeking a passionate professional with a post-secondary degree in Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Urban Design and/or Public Administration from an accredited university or a closely related field.
Full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planner (MCIP) and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (O.P.P.I) or equivalent is an asset.
