LEAD HAND

YOSO Landscaping & Design Ltd. is looking for a great lead hand to join our small but growing company.

We design and install outstanding landscapes with a focus on extraordinary quality - we never take short cuts.

Our work includes retaining walls and patios, water features, design, softscapes, and final grading, with specialties in natural stonework, and unique water features.

Ideally, you're an experienced lead hand, wanting to move into the position of foreman within a year and desire a career in landscape and design.

We're willing to help you with tuition toward your journeyman's ticket (Landscape Horticulture - Olds College) training, and mentorship.

Our team are professionals, Red Seal Journeymen, or nearing their Journeyman certification. Work is throughout the Edmonton region including St. Albert, Morinville, Sherwood Park, Leduc, and Devon so you're going to need a reliable vehicle. You should know that sometimes we do out of town work - like Gull Lake.


Job Duties:

• Assist and support the Project Manager & Foreman in completing the project.
• Assist in the training of crew and new team members.
• Manage and oversee responsibilities in the absence of the Foreman.
• Communicate with the Foreman on the progression of landscape projects.
• Assist in troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Able to maintain and operate machinery on site.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Landscaping
• Hardscape experience required.
• Valid Drivers license class must provide 5year driver's abstract.
• Able to read and interpret landscape plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead and delegate tasks.
• Knowledge of proper installation of landscape materials.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Valid Standard First Aid Ticket (preferred).
• Operate equipment (skid steer, tamper, chop saw).
• Ability to learn quickly.

Job Types:
Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 6-7 months


Salary:
$24.00-$30.00 per hour
