Position Scope:


The PSW is to provide direct client personal care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans in order to meet the individual residents' needs.

Care is to be provided in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, and policies of Annapolis County Municipal Housing Corporation.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide safe and efficient personal care for residents including personal hygiene like grooming, bathing, and feeding when needed.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with residents and other health care professionals.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' health.
  • Assist with ambulation, positioning, and transfer using lifts.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes, and making beds.
  • Ensure that documentation for resident care is accurate and concise.

Qualifications:


  • Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support
  • CPR / Choking
  • Adult
  • Successful completion of PSW course
  • Alzheimer course preferred
  • Experience in a similar environment is considered an asset
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal in English
  • Personal care of residents including restorative care and the ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Covid19 Vaccination Proof required.

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (required)
  • Criminal Record including vulnerable sector check (required)
  • Personal Support Worker or Equivalent Training (required)

Salary:
$35.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Moncton, NB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
