This role is your chance to be involved in all areas of

Human Resources:
Recruitment and Selection, Benefit Administration, Employee Relations and let's not forget company BBQ's, Picnics, as well as Community and Social Events


This role will include the following:

  • Work with Plant Managers and Supervisors to identify staffing levels and training requirements
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews and schedule appropriate testing when required
  • Participate in recruitment initiatives such as inhouse and community job fairs
  • Connect with Colleges, Universities and Provincial Employment Centres
  • Complete required WSIB and MOL paperwork
  • Track WSIB injuries and work in conjunction with Health and Safety
  • In combination with Supervisors, manage return to work plans and coordinate accommodations
  • Respond to inquiries from Employees, Supervisors and Managers
  • Manage employee records ensuring confidentiality
  • Support Plant Managers and Supervisors with performance management and employee development
  • Provide guidance and education in areas such as our company policies, ESA, AODA, etc.
  • Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotions and benefits
  • Coordinate between Payroll to ensure employee information is accurate and complete
  • Foster a productive and positive work environment where employees feel valued, challenged and rewarded for their work
  • Complete investigations and sensitively resolve employee issues while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Team to review and improve current HR processes
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills while working with Employees, Supervisors and Managers
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the HR Team, Supervisors, and Managers
  • Offer effective followthrough with the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Follows all safe work practices and procedures and immediately communicates and mitigates any activity or action which may constitute a risk to employees and the organization
  • Technology aptitude: intermediate proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Internet

Qualifications:


  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or education or training in a related field
  • Minimum 35 years related Human Resources experience
