Payroll Administrator is responsible to support the processing of semi-monthly US and Canada payroll effectively and accurately.

This person will lend their solid knowledge of processing input, output, reporting and reconciliations to optimize the effectiveness of our payroll processes and systems.

They are responsible for staying current with appropriate US and Canada payroll legislation and related government tax filings.


This role is hybrid with the expectation of being in the office twice a month.

What you will do:


  • Participates in the semimonthly payroll processing using SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and ADP programs.
  • Validates data replicated from the SuccessFactors system to ECP.
  • Makes necessary ECP payroll entries to support an accurate and on time payroll.
  • Calculate and remit ER and EE payroll deductions and contributions including but not limited to garnishments, Workers' Compensation, Employer Health Tax, and other pre/postpayroll processing tasks.
  • Prepare and submit ROEs after each payroll.
  • Validate payroll records for all new hires, terminations, salary increases, deductions, direct deposit, earnings, and other related items.
  • Consolidate timesheet data for payroll processing.
  • Support to resolve US tax situations.
  • Support any offcycle processing requirements.
  • Any other payroll requirements as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • 1-3 years of experience supporting payroll processing with an understanding of Canadian and US payroll including regulatory tax compliance and employment standards.
  • Strong excel skillset at the intermediate to senior level. Must be well versed in creating pivot tables and using the VLOOKUP function.
  • Canadian Payroll Association designation and American Payroll Association designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Postsecondary education (college or university).
  • Success Factors/Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and ADP user experience a nice to have.
  • A track record of executing and delivering on agreed upon objectives within a specific timeline.
  • Strong attentiontodetail, accuracy, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective analytical, assessment and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strong ability to multitask within a fast paced, high volume, demanding environment.
  • Initiative and ability to seek out and manage change.
