We're currently seeking a lighting artist to join one of our awesome 3D productions


Responsibilities:

• Follow the creative direction of the production as communicated by the VFX Supervisor
• Light and render shots in production
• Work with Lighting team to ensure shots are lit and rendered efficiently, maintaining the expected render time, quality and style across the production
• Troubleshoot common rendering and lighting technical issues
• Identify challenges to the VFX Supervisor that could potentially impact timelines and delivery schedules
• With the Lighting team, help develop efficient processes to achieve the show look
• Ensure the schedule is being followed and take a proactive approach with the Lighting team to ensure lighting shots are always in progress
• Keep current on Lighting techniques and technology
• Be a positive and creative force in building healthy work and team cultures

Qualifications:

• 12 years of experience in animation or film industry
• Good understanding of the animation production process, mainly from shading to compositing stages
• Experience with lighting and rendering in Maya is a must
• Ability to adapt to multiple show styles
• Experience with Nuke, Renderman, Realflow and Houndini is a plus
• Experience with Mel/Python Scripting is a plus
• Good understanding of rendering methods and shading
• Artistic ability to review and develop (lookdev) assets and sets
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
