Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF).

The dishwasher participates in the day-to-day back of house operations of Bistro '67.

The dishwasher acknowledges the CFF's field-to-fork and sustainable mission, and helps ensure it maintains its various designations, including Feast ON.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the dishwasher will be involved in supporting the day-to-day operations of Bistro '67.

Performing duties including, but not limited to the sanitizing and cleaning of kitchen equipment, small-wares, glassware and utensils supporting both restaurant and event services.


DUTIES:

Participates in the operation and maintenance of the kitchen by:

  • Maintains appropriate stock levels of clean equipment to include small-wares, glassware, utensils, cookware, pots, pans to stock the restaurant/ stations
  • Experienced in disinfecting, removing trash and debris, and emptying trashcans from kitchen area
  • Following procedures required for cleaning the dishwashing machine
  • Receiving and storing food supplies in the proper refrigerators, freezers, and other designated storage areas
  • Participates in maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment including workstations, the prep area, storage spaces and surface areas.
  • Following proper sanitation and safety standards within designated work station.
  • Familiarity with the legislated Dine safe Durham food and safety requirements
  • Supports the open and closure of the kitchen by following the opening/ closing checklist for kitchen workstations
  • Open to perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef

QUALIFICATIONS:


The successful incumbent will possess demonstrated culinary skills and have at least 1 year of progressive experience in the culinary industry to include work experience in a kitchen environment.

Safe Food Handling certification is required. The incumbent will have the ability to multi task, work under pressure and follow directions.

Hours:
up to 24 hours per week. Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday - day shift. Occasional evenings; hours may change in future based on operations
