Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process fullcycle payroll for weekly (hourly) and biweekly (salary) employees; unionized and nonunionized.
- Update payroll information for salary and wage adjustments, including promotions, transfers, terminations, and new hires.
- Work closely with the HR team regarding staffing changes to provide seamless transitions for existing and new employees.
- Process additional financial compensations or deductions (i.e., over time, reimbursements, allowances, annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, worker's compensation).
- Record and maintain accurate employee records and payroll transactions.
- Process pension (RRSP) contributions, including, but not limited to enrolment, changes, leave of absences and terminations.
- Oversee electronic directdeposit payments and distribution of payroll checks.
- Maintain records for monthend reporting and remittances.
- Assist with the yearend process.
- Generate reports and payrollrelated documents as requested by HR and/or Executives.
- Ensure legal compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, and tax, and deductions laws.
- Produce and submit ROE's both within the payroll system and manually when required.
- Provide support with internal and external audits or requests.
- Handle benefit expenses, including insurance or paid leaves.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of employment records and employee information.
- Answer employee questions about salaries or payments. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is required
:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or in a similar role.
- Diploma/BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or in a related field.
- Minimum 3year experience processing fullcycle payroll transactions for hourly and salary employees.
- Experience processing payroll in a unionized organization is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, payroll systems and database software (i.e., FieldBoss, Business Central, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
