Join the exceptional team at The Town of Qualicum Beach as a Student within our Human Resources Department. Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of Human Resources for a summer placement. This temporary position is available from May to August and will exposure you to key aspects in the field of HR and provide an opportunity to gain valuable practical and professional experience. The successful applicant will provide day-to-day support to the HR team in recruitment, employee engagement, HRIS, Health and Safety and a range of administrative tasks.

Typical duties will include:

Collaborate with HR team in updating the Town's onboarding and new hire orientation process and assisting with recruitment activities.

Participate in and support the Town's Health and Safety and Wellness Programs.

Provide data administration support.

Support HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Required qualifications include:

Currently enrolled in post-secondary courses in Human Resource Management.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint).

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, combined with ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently.
This is an exempt position with the rate of pay is $20.49/hour. Successful applicants will be expected to work 35 hours/week.
