About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Health Services Manager the Unit Clerk contributes to the effective operation of the nursing unit by acting as the central communication person (for the unit).

The Unit Clerk performs reception, clerical and administrative duties following hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of maturity and discretion in handling confidential matters.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus one year related clerical experience or graduate of a recognized one year secretarial/business program
  • Previous unit clerk experience preferred
  • Typing and computer skills required
  • General office skills preferred
  • Previous experience with STAR an asset
  • Medical Terminology course an asset
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm during an emergency and deal with numerous interruptions and continuous change an asset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:


  • Long Assignment Full-Time (100%) position, 70 Hours Bi-Weekly
  • Starting as soon as possible, with an expected end date of November 30, 2024

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $21.91 Hourly
