    Position Summary

    Under the general direction of the Regional Manager - Security, this position is responsible for the overall management and effectiveness of security operations at the site level. Assist with the planning and directing of security initiatives. Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports. Implements all new security operations initiatives as directed. Actively participates in the r ecruitment and hiring process. Ensures adherence to the Company�s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian�s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all te am members.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation at the site level, including backstretch security (if applicable); develops performance objectives and delive rs performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Implements security strategic plans as directed
  • Monitors the site security budget; reports variances; makes recommendations
  • Responds to and resolves security issues as escalated Oversees playing card inventories, deliveries, pick ups and defacement or delegates as required (if applicable)
  • Oversees various critical security systems (., Key Control, WINPAC, SIMS, Threat Management System)
  • Develops an d implements training for security operations; ensures team members are trained in Emergency Response Procedures
  • Prepares and maintains site-specific tactical responses to emergency events
  • Identifies the need for investigations an d conducts as directed
  • Reviews reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities and other reports as requested
  • Oversees the site First Aid Program; reviews First Aid reports; ensures F irst Aid staff are appropriately trained and scheduled
  • Conducts on-going site risk assessments; identifies areas of practice or equipment that meet security best practices; identifies opportunities for efficiencies
  • Maintains curre nt facility floor plans
  • Administers evacuations; prepares evacuation checklists
  • Maintains database of active team members
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cul tivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, regulatory bodies, management and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required
  • Education and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of security experience in a gaming environ ment; minimum 2 year management experience
  • Food Safety or Responsible Liquor Service Certification
  • Must be willing to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years
  • Fluency in other languages an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS O ffice
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

  • Regular office environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be r equired
