    Armstrong is continuously growing, and we are looking for an Electrical Engineer with the passion and motivation to contribute to innovative, industry-leading projects. You will collaborate with a variety of colleagues across project teams, from engineering and product development to implementation and manufacturing, to develop electrical systems that meet our customers' needs. We are looking for a great team player, someone would like to learn how to deliver complex solutions that combine hardware and software.     This position is located at Toronto, ON Canada.

    In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

    Role Requirements

    • Testing the samples including small circulators to larger hydraulic pumps.
    • Responsible in electrical drawing and reviewing the schematics of current and new projects.
    • Investigation on new products, components, and instrumentation for current and new projects.
    • Support team on verification of the performance of electrical components and final integrated set up.
    • Providing engineering reports and review them.
    • Follow up on evaluation, testing, meetings for the process of current projects.
    • Conduct technical investigation and simulation of mainly electric motor, drive (their interface and communication).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Completed University degree in Electrical Engineering (Power and Control Engineering).
    • Background in electrical machines and drives, mechanical, or hardware engineering.
    • Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and automated system an asset.
    • Experience with Solid Works CAD, certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification an asset.
    • Familiarities with different standards including IEEE 112, 115, 519, IEC 60034 and 61800 series, UL 508 and 1004-8, NEMA MG1 and SM1, CSA C22.2, NEC, NFPA on Electric machine and its application.
    • Ability to plan and manage a varied workload and have a pro-active and flexible attitude.
    • Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures).
    • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations.
    • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
    • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
    • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.
    • Ability to plan and manage a varied workload and have a pro-active and flexible attitude.
    • Self-motivation and commitment to achieving high standards of quality and efficiency.
