Responsibilities:
- Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret construction blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and materials required.
- Material Selection: Select and source appropriate materials for each project, considering functionality, durability, and costeffectiveness.
- Measurements and Layout: Take precise measurements and mark cutting lines on materials, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project plans.
- Cutting and Shaping: Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble materials according to design specifications.
- Installation:Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinets, and trim, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
- Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair damaged or faulty structures, fixtures, and furniture, extending their lifespan.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including architects, electricians, and plumbers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect and ensure the quality of finished products, identifying and correcting any defects or issues.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and find creative solutions to challenges that may arise during construction or renovation projects.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse carpentry projects.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of various carpentry techniques and materials.
- Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Has a variety of own tools (tool allowance provided).
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cutting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training is a plus.
- Own transportation to get to and from the job site (locally).
- Ability to travel for out of town work.
