DESCRIPTION
As a IT Specialist / Systems Admin, you are a doer. You are a good problem-solver, organized and detail-oriented individual who can juggle several projects at the same time.

You have strong communication skills (both oral and written), are an active listener, and have an exceptional ability to manage timelines.


You will be responsible for:

  • Remote and at times onsite technical support for client issues
  • Management of advanced technologies such as VMware, UTM/Firewall, cloud and VoIP servers, VPNs, SQL database management, and others
  • Responding to and assisting clients with common technical issues, while meeting customer service and response time (SLA) objectives
  • New technical projects that deliver enhanced value to our customers
  • Manage issues from initial reporting through to resolution
  • Call Logging, tracking, problem resolution, and call escalation using remote management tools.
  • L2 troubleshooting process, documentation, and ticket classification/escalation
  • Participate in the development of internal knowledge base, user reference guides, and instruction manuals
  • Work collaboratively with other internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure all aspects of IT projects and support requests are met
  • Initiative to identify and alert management of emerging trends in incidents
  • Occasional evening and weekend support, as required
  • Complete training and achieve industry certifications in relevant operating systems, security, and thirdparty client software.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Indepth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.

Some examples below but not limited to:

  • VoIP
  • LAMP stacks
  • FTP servers
  • RDP gateways
  • RDP clusters
  • Software installation
  • System diagnostics
  • Cloud Infrastructure Firewalls (pfSense, IPFire, vCloud Edge)
  • VPN
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Willing to work and available afterhours
  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
  • Certification as an IT technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • Valid Ontario driver's license

$65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
