About the Position:


Reporting to the Manager, Brand Marketing, the Graphic Design Intern position provides support to Explore Edmonton's Global Marketing team, specifically on graphic design support as it relates to Explore Edmonton's five marketing accounts: Sport & Culture, Business Events, Consumer Marketing, Venues and Community Initiatives & Agriculture.

This includes the creative elements and design of both internal and external facing branded documents and campaign collateral.

This is a temporary position which runs from approximately June to August 202- Collaborate with the Brand and Design team to develop design concepts and collateral

  • Receive feedback from the Brand Marketing Manager and Graphic Design Specialist and make necessary changes
  • Brainstorm and develop creative ideas to further marketing/communications efforts
  • Support internal resources and 3rd party vendors with the execution of design projects.
  • Continuously adhere to brand guidelines and ensure all content is onbrand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and suitable for distribution across all channels
  • Assist with design execution and planning for Marketing and all other EEC business units
  • Support Brand Marketing Manager and Graphic Design Specialist with a wide array of projects. This might include writing, research, website updates, or campaign brainstorming.
  • Provide support for various Global Marketing team projects, including tagline brainstorming and experiential campaigns
  • Current tourism, marketing and design research
  • File management and organization
  • Other projects that arise
  • High school diploma required
  • Enrolled in postsecondary education in Graphic Design, Professional Communications, Visual Arts, Journalism
  • New Media, Arts or related undergraduate programs
  • Strong design foundation with the willingness to grow skillset
  • Passion for travel, destination growth, tourism and events industries
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Able to work in a team environment and collaborate for solutions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with project management software such as Asana is an asset
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is required
  • Creative mind and ability to truly understand a brand essence
  • Ability to multitask

  • Thinks outside the box
