Working for CRINA and NMHI**The Cancer Research Institute of Northern Alberta (CRINA) and the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute (NMHI) are multi-faculty, interdisciplinary research and training institutes.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations of both the NMHI, and CRINA, the staff member will provide administrative support to the institutes.
Duties
- Supports the activities of institute committees and working groups by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, distributing materials, taking minutes, and ensuring deliverables are followed up on in a timely manner
- Coordinates the institutes' seminar series including arranging speakers and promotion Assembles weekly newsletters for circulation to institute members
- Assembles weekly newsletters for circulation to institute members
- Helps to plan and organize events including workshops, town halls, retreats and public events
- Assists with redesign of the institutes' websites.
- Assists with managing social media accounts
- Builds relationships with internal stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Postsecondary degree
- Advanced software and computer skills
- Proficient in using various communications tools (e.g., content management systems, social media [Twitter, Facebook])
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- Strong commitment to professionalism
- Proven proactive selfstarter
- High level of accuracy in a detailed and varied workload
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Ability to recognize problems and suggest solutions
