Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations, the Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for overseeing and collaborating with external consultants in the implementation of corporate reorganizations and tax planning.
Additionally, they will perform various tasks related to tax accounting in accordance with established procedures and prescribed deadlines, following the various provincial and federal tax laws of Canada, the US and Australia.
Meet all Canadian, US and Australian requirements for corporate and sales taxes;Calculation of the tax provision and transfer pricing for monthly and annual financial reports (actual, annual budget and forecast), ensuring the accuracy of tax reports for local finances as well as corporate reports, in close collaboration with the Finance Director;
Responsible for the completion and submission of monthly and annual tax returns and reports;
Ensure that the relevant documentation is completed and that procedures are in place to ensure compliance with local regulations;
Verification of withholding taxes (WHT) of foreign transactions;
Manage the various investment tax credit files;
Train and educate colleagues from all departments on tax issues and share best practices;
Tax Audits
Coordinate and proactively prepare the documentation required for the various audits;
Coordinate and review the company's responses to tax auditors' information requests and notices of proposed adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness;
Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, IT and other Service Center departments to address tax-related matters and support business initiatives;
Drafting of procedures and modus operandi for tax declarations;
Maintain an internal control framework;
Participate in the production of various tax reports or information required by the various provincial or federal authorities (Statistics Canada, Environment Canada and others);
Assist with other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities within the Financial Reporting & Accounting department.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting specialization;
Minimum 8 years of work experience in a similar function (ex: tax compliance, tax planning, tax accounting in a corporate environment);
Perfect command of French and English (written and oral)
Solid knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
Strong technical knowledge of provincial, state and federal tax laws and regulations;
Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems; knowledge of Business Central an asset;
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex tax issues;
Participation in the projects of a growing company with stimulating challenges in a constantly evolving context
