    The Manager, Equity, Diversityand Inclusion supports NAIT in achieving its goal of building a safe andinclusive working and learning environment where all people are welcomed,valued and treated equitably and with fairness. This positionleads NAIT's EDI strategy including identifying and leading initiativesrelated to the institution's commitments to advance equity, cultivateinclusion, and build a diverse community. The manager works collaborativelywith leaders across campus to remove systemic barriers and works to raiseawareness and education around EDI initiatives.

    The manager identifies and leads projects that supportthe strategic priorities of the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Thisincludes ensuring that the unit is meeting it's objectives of:

  • Supporting community building for students and equity-deserving groups,
  • Developing staff and student capacity in EDI
  • Ensuring students are connected to appropriate services and resources oncampus.
  • KeyResponsibilities:

  • Leads implementation ofNAIT's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy including:
  • Identifies and leads projects to advance equity, cultivate inclusion andbuild a diverse community,
  • Develops change management and communication strategies.
  • Provides EDI lens on development and review of institutional policiesand procedures
  • Provides subject matter expertise and internal consultation on mattersrelated to EDI
  • Establishes strategic priorities, identify and operationalize tacticsand projects to support NAIT's EDI goals and objectives
  • Liaises with departments across campus to identify and remove barriersto access, participation, and advancement for equity-deserving groups.
  • Oversees Office ofEquity, Diversity and Inclusion operations.
  • Manages strategicplanning, effective communication, and teamwork for Office of Equity, Diversityand Inclusion
  • Manages budgetresources within the areas of supervision.
  • Develops grant/donorproposals, aligned to department and institutional strategic priorities.

  • Ability to advocate aposition, and storytelling.
  • Knowledge of Principlesof social justice, equity, inclusion, accessibility, diversity, decolonization,truth and reconciliation, intercultural competence, Intersectionality, culturaltransition, anti-racism, Critical race theory, social identity theory,intercultural communication theory
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree -preferably in gender studies, social justice, sociology, political science, orother related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Significant relatedprofessional experience
  • Experienced withrelevant acts and regulations, including but not limited to: Employment EquityAct, Alberta Human Rights Act, Duty to Accommodate, Designated LearningInstitution regulations, OHS legislation, Sexual Violence Prevention andResponse, FOIP
  • Remuneration : $ 96, $ 127,657.66 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
