Marianhill is a charitable long-term care facility located in the beautiful Ottawa Valley.

We provide specialized care for 200 long-term care, complex continuing care as well as a 3 bed Hospice Palliative care unit.

Marianhill is currently seeking a
Full Time MDS/RAI RPN


Under the direction of the Director of Care, plan, direct, coordinate and complete resident assessment and care plan using a case mix model that maximizes funding, benefits residents and encourages continuous quality improvement through the development of innovative and creative approaches to care and service needs.

Provide training and be responsible to ensure efficient, accurate data collection and submissions to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).

Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill's Mission Statement, established policies, procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the client and promotes maximum independence.


Key responsibilities include:

Ensure the resident assessment schedule is developed, completed, current and accessible to all RAI users

  • Ensure that other resident assessments (fall, podiatric, wound etc.) schedule is developed to coincide with RAI/MDS schedule.
  • Ensure RAI/MDS assessments, resident assessment protocols and care planning are completed as scheduled within required timelines.
  • Assist all RAI users to correctly code assessments and provide support for validation of coding.
  • Work in consultation with management and interdisciplinary team members to develop processes that ensure data integrity, efficient data collection process, assessment completion and data utilization.
  • Establish data quality processes to evaluate MDS coding accuracy and its timely completion.
  • Review, prepare and submit RAI/MDS data quarterly to CIHI.
  • Attend Resident Care Conferences and review Outcome Summary Report with interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Care to effectively meet the goals and objectives of Marianhill.
  • Ensures that practices meet the requirements of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act & Regulations as well as Marianhill safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • A minimum of three years clinical experience in long term care is required.
  • Previous experience with RAI/MDS assessment and process.
  • Completed AIS proficiency evaluations and achieved average score > 90% (on
  • Mandatory sections and additional sections determined annually by Marianhill).
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary team members and LTC policies on assessment and care planning processes.
  • Basic understanding of Excel.
  • Professional affiliation with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is considered an asset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
  • Excellent attendance is essential.
