Our Debt Capital Markets group:


Debt Capital Markets provides a broad range of fixed income services to domestic and international clients, including corporates, financial institutions, governments and SSAs.

The Debt Capital Markets group in Canada primarily responsible for structuring and marketing public and private debt instruments in both investment grade and high yield.

The group works closely with investment banking, sales and trading, derivatives and foreign exchange teams to achieve optimal execution for our evolving client base.

Our debt finance franchise is the clear leader in corporate origination in Canada and uniquely global in nature, with significant capabilities in all major currencies.


Responsibilities:


The Debt Capital Markets co-op student will be responsible for performing financial analysis, drafting market commentary, updating and maintaining databases, assisting in the preparation of client presentations, coordinating weekly pricing and providing general support to the debt capital markets group.


Qualifications:


  • A selfstarter and strong team player with ability to work well in a deadlinedriven, fastpaced environment.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Financial modeling experience would be desired.
  • Knowledge of accounting (ability to interpret financial statements) and solid understanding of capital structure and credit metrics is essential.
  • Knowledge of general capital markets as well as interest in corporate bond markets.
  • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills are a must.
  • High regard for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
