What you'll do


Reporting to the Vice President, Store Technology, the Associate Vice President, Store Technology Reliability, will lead the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, strategy, roadmap, and execution of technology operations for all store systems at our 1,700+ retail locations.

You will be at the heart of Canadian Tire's retail business, by continuously improving systems and processes to deploy and sustain highly reliable and performant systems.

You will also be the face of operations and support to stores as the leader of our retail systems service desk.

As AVP, Store Technology Reliability, you will help shape our store technology products by collaborating with engineers and designers to ensure products are scalable and deliver business value and exceptional customer experiences.


  • Own, maintain, and deliver the store technology operations roadmap in partnership with business and IT stakeholders and in line with business priorities
  • Lead, mentor and build the SRE, Support and Monitoring teams, working together to create a worldclass IT operations capability within Canadian Tire
  • Prioritize development of systems resiliency, stability, performance and security capabilities to ensure delivery on time, on budget based on business impact and KPIs
  • Partner with solution architects, scrum masters, program owners and the delivery teams to drive business outcomes
  • Use data and analytics to identify and prioritize initiatives that improve the experience and productivity for store customers
  • Define the objectives and key success metrics to continuously measure and report on the performance of our products to internal stakeholders, Dealers, and Franchisees

What you bring

  • 10+ years of relevant operations experience in a fastpaced environment with at least 3+ years experience defining and implementing operational roadmaps
  • Proven selfstarter with entrepreneurial instincts and the ability to successfully balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience handling incident management, systems monitoring, and performance tools
  • Experience leading SRE initiatives and systems support for large enterprise high availability systems
  • Demonstrated change management capabilities, including communication, enablement, and stakeholder management
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal, including ability to develop effective crossorganizational and vendor relationships
