Job Description:
The
Water Division of AECOM has an exciting career opportunity for a Water/Wastewater leader with skills and experience in the design and project management of water and wastewater treatment plants.
The emphasis for this position is on client knowledge, technical and project management skills to help secure and deliver a variety of water and wastewater treatment plant designs in Canada and manage a design team of various levels and disciplines of engineers and CAD designers.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:- Managing the design team for projects in municipal water and wastewater
- Managing client relationships and maintaining regular client contact to solicit feedback on opportunities and project execution
- Organizing project teams to support project design and execution
- Leading project delivery against established budgets, schedules, and quality expectations
- Preparing project proposals, scope changes, task and fee breakdowns, and schedules
- Development and preparation of technical analysis, report writing, and conceptual / preliminary / detailed designs
- Hiring and mentoring of staff and providing engineering support
- Representing AECOM in relevant professional organizations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical/Civil Engineering or related field
- 8 years of relevant work experience
- Established relationships with municipal Water clients in Quebec
- Project management and technical skills in design of water and wastewater treatment plants
- Project management skills in leading multidisciplinary teams on design projects
- Strong understanding of the applicable design standards in Canada
- Good communication skills in French, including written, spoken, and presentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience;
- Positive attitude with interest in winning and delivering successful projects;
- Interest in mentoring and developing the skills of others;
- Good communication skills in English;
- A track record of successful municipal water/wastewater projects;
- Be a strategic, analytical, and practical thinker;
- Project leadership experience / team leadership experience;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive relationships with coworkers and with clients;
- Effective time management and delegation skills.
