Associate - Development Program, Corporate Client Group
What is the Opportunity?
This development program in Corporate Client Group (CCG) will provide foundational knowledge of this specialized corporate banking group and develop future leaders of CCG.
As an Associate, you will participate in a series of rotational assignments over an 18-month period, gaining exposure to different segments of CCG including relationship management, credit management, and other mid market specialized.
What will you do?
- Support the deal transaction process by participating in finance team credit submissions, including research, analysis, and due diligence
- Use and develop complex financial modelling skills and credit structuring skills that are all critical elements of corporate and commercial lending and may have an opportunity to own key sections of the credit submission including presenting to senior leadership
- Participate in client calls with other colleagues to understand the client's needs and work on materials to present solutions to clients (marketing pitches, presentations, discussion papers, term sheets)
- Manage an assigned loan portfolio, including processing client requests and assigning an internal risk rating for those clients in collaboration with the Risk Management team. Gain an in depth understanding of various internal and client driven requests which occur as part of everyday client management.
- Build relationships and interact with other functions within the organization such as Corporate Client Group, Risk Management, Global Loans Administration, front line Service Managers, Cash Managers, etc.
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree in business, economics, accounting, or finance with knowledge of credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements
- Advanced skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the ability to source data and complete research
- Highlevel of attention to detail in both written and financial work with capability to independently work through loan agreements and other legal documents
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, manage multiple competing priorities
Nice-to-have
- Preference given to MBA, CFA, or CPA
- Financial Modeling and quantitative analysis experience
- Work experience in corporate finance and corporate lending
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial attitude and selfmotivation to achieve above average results
- Ability to commit to over and above regular work hours
- Continuous learner with a deep curiosity
