We are seeking a full-time, permanent Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Leader within our Maintenance & Engineering Department. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the E&I Leader will manage a team of E&I Technologists and electrician. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of electrical, instrumentation & control system requirements for routine field maintenance and CAPEX projects.
The E&I Leader will be accountable for supervising a varied amount of E&I crew and will work closely with areas of Production & Powerhouse to maintain Plant efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with the maintenance planner and production department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
- Review the operation of Plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiate, implement and manage the plant E&I preventive maintenance programs based on best industrial practices.
- Perform all DCS related activities including routine maintenance, design of new control logics, creation of new instrument loop sheets, development of new graphics & programming new control loops.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving E&I related problems.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and / or conduct failure analysis of E&I equipment.
- Prepare the estimate and / or plan the work scope requirement for assigned tasks.
- Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Create, update, and maintain the critical spares inventory list.
- Ensure that E&I team is adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and costeffective manner.
- Ensure that all E&I Team is trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures and practices.
- Maintain and update operating and training manuals/procedures.
- Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, schedule compliance, etc.
- Comply with the requirements of the Quality, Environmental and H&S Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with Rain Carbon Vision, Values, procedures, practices and standards.
- Conduct employee performance assessment reviews to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the E&I team.
- Assist in the development of department budgets.
- Additional duties, as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER INFORMATION
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electrical engineering or closely related field
- 510 years of related electrical, instrumentation and control systems experience with 23 years of lead or supervisory experience.
- 23 years of experience working on DCS & ESD Preferably ABB 800XA system, AC800M & AC460 Controllers
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in an organized and detailed manner with limited timeframes.
- Proven high level of initiative, accountability, and flexibility.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to effectively coach, develop and lead others.
- Proven abilities in MS Office Suite programs.
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system, specifically SAP is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Salary:
$49.64-$52.25 per hour
Expected hours: 37.50 per week
