Job Description:
Instructor - Personal Support Worker (Health, Wellness, and Science)


Responsibilities:


Curriculum Delivery:
Deliver lectures, practical training sessions, and simulations to students enrolled in the Personal Support Worker program.


Teach students essential skills and knowledge related to providing care and support to individuals in various healthcare settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home care.

Cover topics such as basic nursing care, personal hygiene, safety protocols, medication administration, mobility assistance, and communication skills.

Develop and update course materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on exercises, to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.

Utilize instructional technology and resources to enhance student learning experiences.


Instructional Support and Guidance:
Provide individualized instruction and support to students, addressing their learning needs and challenges.

Conduct assessments and provide constructive feedback to students on their progress, assignments, and practical skills.

Offer guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop the necessary skills and professionalism in the healthcare field.


Industry Knowledge and Engagement:
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the field of Personal Support Worker training.

Foster relationships with healthcare professionals and organizations to enhance student learning opportunities, practicum placements, and job prospects.

Incorporate real-life scenarios, case studies, and practical experiences into the curriculum to provide hands-on training.


Classroom and Lab Management:
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment in the classroom and lab settings.

Ensure the availability, proper use, and maintenance of equipment, tools, and materials necessary for practical training.

Adhere to health and safety protocols, including infection control measures and proper handling of medical supplies.


Student Assessment and Evaluation:
Develop and administer assessments, tests, and practical evaluations to measure students' understanding and competency in Personal Support Worker skills.

Keep accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress, and provide timely reports to program coordinators and administrators.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and fair evaluation practices across the program.
