PROFILE:


This position is responsible for planning supplier release schedules based on internal/external customer demand that meets customer expectations while maintaining and balancing pre-established stock levels.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Monitor supplier release requirements and expedite supplier schedules that delay receipt of parts and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  • Manage Supplier Inventory and review negatives.
  • Take the lead in supplier management through taking customer requirements (via MRP) and converting them into a release schedule to achieve optimal supply of parts to meet the production schedule. Review changes in customer demand and makes appropriate adjustments to release quantities in order to support production requirements.
  • Manage and monitor vendor relationships.
  • Monitor and trend supplier delivery performance. Ensure database is accurate and completed on time.
  • Manage supplier part levels for coordination of engineering changes. Ensure proper level is scheduled based on demand.
  • Analyze MRP report daily/weekly to ensure support to production builds. Maintain stability and minimize increases.
  • Ensure proper control systems to check incoming material against schedules
  • Manage effectivity dates on releases to support trials and line builds
  • Communicate any part shortages to scheduler and participate in recovery plan
  • Check daily MRP exceptions to schedules and communicate with Master Scheduler and Supplier change in requirements
  • Update Supplier logistics routing information as required
  • Prepare and maintain proper inventory levels to satisfy schedules and inventory dollars
  • Ensure parts requiring attention reports are maintained as required
  • Follow up daily on supplier schedules and ensure past due requirements have an action plan for recovery
  • Complete weekly/daily/monthly metrics as required
  • Ensure premium freight inbound/outbound is monitored and tracked daily/weekly/monthly
  • Participate in supplier resource recommendation and coordination
  • Identifies and establishes systems and processes to ensure integrity
  • Writes and/or updates procedures as processes change (TS requirement)
  • Perform tasks for monthend inventory recording
  • Perform other duties as required

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Follow the duties and responsibilities specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act Sections 2
  • Ensure all safety and nonsafety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established safety, quality and housekeeping standards and participate in the continuous improvement process.
  • Attends Environmental Health and Safety training
  • Adhere to Magna Closures and Dortec health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, policies and procedures
  • Follow compliance obligations
  • Report any known near miss, environmental impact, hazard, defect, incident or compliance issue to the employer or supervisor
  • Assist in near miss, hazard and incident investigations and provide input on corrective actions
  • Understand BILL 168 and uphold the policies that prohibit domestic violence, workplace violence and harassment in the Workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:


  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • 3 to less than 5 years of workrelated experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
