Sewer/Water Deckhand

Location:
Ottawa, ON

Responsibilities:

Assist Crew Members: Work closely with crew members to assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of sewer and water infrastructure.

Operate Equipment: Operate various equipment and machinery, including pumps, excavators, and hand tools, to support sewer and water construction activities.

Material Handling: Handle and transport materials, pipes, fittings, and other components required for sewer and water projects safely and efficiently.

Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation tasks, such as excavation, trenching, and shoring, to facilitate sewer and water installation and repair work.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control measures, inspections, and testing to ensure workmanship meets industry standards and project specifications.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to project progress, material usage, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in construction, preferably in sewer and water projects, is preferred but not required.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors and crew members.
Physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as required.

Pay:
From $28.00 per hour
