Summary:
In support of the new Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) IMIT program.

The Technology Systems Implementation Project Manager will be responsible for the successful identification and delivery of various technology solutions (devices and software), in order to facilitate the operational requirements for the new facility.

This role will require significant engagement and management of numerous stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

This includes synthesis and consensus related to operational requirements through active facilitation of various clinical and operational stakeholder groups, leading a competitive process to select a solution, and managing the full implementation of that solution for the opening of the CSRC.


Further responsibilities include coordination with other technical and clinical teams to provide support and input related to operational and clinical workflows, facility and system design.


Qualifications / Skills and Education:
Education

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree supplemented by formal training in project management or relevant discipline, plus seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent, related progressively responsible experience in implementing technology systems from business cases to specification development and implementation of large and/or complex technology system capital projects including experience in:

  • implementing technology systems in an existing healthcare environment or within a new facility; and-project management, supervision, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with stakeholder groups.
Project Management Professional Designation or in progress would be considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of technology systems capital project planning and implementation processes, including design, construction and procurement within new hospital facility construction.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach team members on these skills.
  • Broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems in primary, acute and community settings.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high value projects (>$1M) on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings and construction specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage planning, design and construction technology system projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of available resources for projects and applicable stakeholder groups including feedback and detailed analysis on project processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead and inspire staff, and build a team environment that fosters trust and respect. Demonstrated ability to supervise team members and provide direction to other staff, and consultants and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, plan, organize, prioritize and implement projects in a timely manner in a dynamic project environment with changing priorities.
  • Possesses business acumen and analytical skills to anticipate financial and business requirements and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, customer relations, communication and facilitation skills to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement sessions to gather clinical and operational requirements based on future workflows and operational procedures (such as type/number of users, integration points, work flows, etc) to inform procurement and system selection.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to manage the end to end procurement cycle and act as key point of contact for vendors related to these systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of process improvement activities (including documentation, futurestate design and implementation planning/delivery)
  • Support design meetings and liaise with the user groups
  • Manage the transition process from planning to implementation and sustainment
  • Use clinical and operational requirements to support and drive change
  • Drive engagement and excitement for Innovation portfolio projects key stakeholder groups through engagement and communication activities
  • Work closely with project managers leading other workstreams where coordination and integration is required to ensure a streamlined, coordinated and efficient approach to planning and implementation
